Condition grading

Graded, not guessed.

Every unit is inspected and assigned a grade before it is listed, and the faults are named on the listing. If a container is wrong for your site, we will tell you so.

How grading works
One-trip
A single loaded voyage from the factory. Near-new paint, square doors, clean floor — the right start for any modification.
Cargo-worthy
Certified fit for international shipping with a valid CSC plate. Cosmetic wear, sound structure.
Wind & watertight
Sealed against weather, no longer shipping-certified. The best value per cubic foot for static storage.
As-is
Known faults, individually described and priced accordingly. Sold final sale.

Questions

Answered before you ask

The questions buyers actually ask us, in full. If yours is not here, the phone is answered Monday to Friday by someone who sells containers for a living.

What condition grades do you sell, and what do they mean?
We sell four grades. One-trip (new) units have made a single loaded voyage from the factory and look essentially new. Cargo-worthy (CW) units are certified fit for international shipping and carry a valid CSC plate. Wind and watertight (WWT) units are structurally sound and sealed against weather but are no longer shipping-certified — the best value for static storage. As-is units have known faults that we list individually. Every listing states its grade.
Should I buy a new or a used container?
If appearance matters, the container will be modified, or it will be visible to customers, buy one-trip. If it will hold tools, stock or equipment on a yard or farm, a wind and watertight used unit does the same job for roughly 40–55% less. Both last decades when placed on a level base that drains.
What is the difference between a standard and a high cube container?
A high cube is one foot taller — 9 ft 6 in externally against 8 ft 6 in — giving about 8 ft 10 in of internal height. That extra foot is what makes insulation, a finished ceiling or stacked racking practical, so high cubes are the usual choice for offices, workshops and habitable conversions.
Can I see the container before I buy it?
Yes. You are welcome to inspect any unit at the depot holding it. Book a viewing with our sales team and we will confirm the address and a time. For remote buyers we will take and send fresh photographs of the specific unit on request.
How much space do I need for delivery?
Containers arrive on a tilt-bed truck that needs room to slide the unit off. Allow roughly 18 m of straight clearance for a 20 ft unit and 30 m for a 40 ft unit, a firm level approach about 4 m wide, and 5 m of overhead clearance. Soft ground, mud, snow and low branches are the usual reasons a delivery fails. See our Shipping and Delivery Policy.
How long does delivery take?
From cleared payment: 2–5 business days within Manitoba, 3–10 days to Saskatchewan and northwest Ontario, 4–9 days to Alberta, 6–13 days to British Columbia and Quebec, and 8–21 days to the Maritimes and Newfoundland. Territories and remote sites are quoted individually. Modified units add the fabrication time shown on the listing.
